The fast-rising American mezzo-soprano Angela Brower has been heralded for a voice that is “velvety, warm and emotional.” She’s brought luminous portrayals of iconic roles to life on the world’s most renowned stages, and continues to garner accolades and critical acclaim with her sensitive artistry and significant dramatic presence.

Ms. Brower was raised in Arizona, and studied at Arizona State University and Indiana University. Her career started as a young artist singing at the Glimmerglass Opera Young American Artists Program in 2008. She was then invited to join the Opera Studio at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, where she later became a member of the Ensemble from 2010-2016. Her portrayal of Dorabella, in Così fan tutte, earned her particular attention on the main stage of the Nationaltheater, which led to her receiving the prestigious Munich Festival Prize in 2009.

Angela Brower made her recording debut in 2014 as Dorabella on a complete disc of Mozart’s Così fan tutte, which was released by Deutsche Grammophon to enthusiastic critical acclaim. In the summer of 2015, Ms. Brower recorded a “nimble, delicately shaded” portrayal of Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro on Deutsche Grammophon which was nominated for a 2017 Grammy.
