Sutton Foster is an award-winning actor, singer and dancer who has performed in eleven Broadway shows and most recently in the revival of Sweet Charity. She originated roles in the Broadway productions of The Drowsy Chaperone, Little Women, Young Frankenstein, Shrek The Musical. She won two Tony Awards for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical for Anything Goes and Thoroughly Modern Milly. For her Broadway performances, Sutton has received a total of six Tony “Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical” nominations, an achievement which has been matched by only two other actresses in Tony Awards history.
As a solo artist, Sutton has performed all over the country as well as internationally, gracing the stages of Carnegie Hall, Feinstein’s, Lincoln Center’s American Songbook series, and many others.
She was first seen on television on “Star Search” at age 15. Currently, Foster stars as Liza in the acclaimed television series, Younger, on TV Land. Previously, Foster starred in the ABC Family series Bunheads where she earned a Critics’ Choice Television Award nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. She has also made guest appearances on well-known children series including Disney’s Johnny and the Sprites, and PBS’s Sesame Street.
Foster received an honorary Doctorate degree from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana where she also is on the faculty as teacher and advisor to the Department of Theatre and Dance.
