Announcing the 2015 Christmas Concert Guest Artists
The moment is here! This year’s Christmas concert guest artists are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. We have not two, but six guest artists who will make the Christmas concert something never to be forgotten.
Laura Osnes will return after her amazing performance during this past summer’s Pioneer Day concerts. She will be joined British actor Martin Jarvis, who will be the guest narrator. In addition, four Metropolitan Opera soloists will also join the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square—adding a classical dimension to the musical repertoire.
Osnes recently won a Drama Desk Award for Best Lead Actress in a Musical for her performance in the title role of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Recently, Osnes originated the role of Julia in The Bandstand at the Paper Mill Playhouse. The musical is premiering to rave reviews. AM New York said, “The Bandstand is lively, enjoyable and captivating. In other words, it definitely has Broadway potential. . . . (Osnes) is especially well-suited for The Bandstand.”
Jarvis is one of Britain’s most versatile and best-loved actors. He recently starred in The Importance of Being Earnest in London’s West End production and won a Theatre World Award for his starring role of Jeeves on Broadway. In addition to theater, his movie credits include Titanic and Wreck-It Ralph. His television credits include Stargate: Atlantis; Numb3rs; Space: Above and Beyond; Murder, She Wrote; Walker, Texas Ranger; and many more. His voiceover work includes Star Wars: The Old Republic, Spyro the Dragon, and Batman: Arkham Origins.
The classical soloists for the Christmas concert are Erin Morley (soprano), Tamara Mumford (mezzo-soprano), Ben Bliss (tenor), Tyler Simpson (bass).
The 2015 Christmas Concert will begin with a public dress rehearsal on Thursday, December 17, and concerts on Friday, December 18, and Saturday, December 19. Tickets are required and may be requested online from Saturday, October 24, 12:01 a.m. through Monday, November 2, at 11:59 p.m.
