The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square invite music lovers and those celebrating Easter around the world, to enjoy Handel’s Messiah with renowned guest soloists Amanda Woodbury, Tamara Mumford, Tyler Nelson, and Tyler Simpson streamed over the internet.

This special Messiah performance, recorded in 2018, will stream on Friday, March 26, 2021 on a variety of websites, social channels, and other broadcast locations to enable individuals and families worldwide to enjoy the Easter season at home with their loved ones as the world celebrates the birth, life, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

This is your opportunity to sing (as loud as you desire!) in the privacy of your own home as you join with The Tabernacle Choir to enjoy Handel’s much-loved Messiah with the Orchestra at Temple Square accompanying you!

Messiah was composed by George Frideric Handel in 1742 in just 24 days with a scriptural text compiled by Charles Jennens. It recounts the life of Jesus Christ in three sections, from His birth to His death and eventual Resurrection. Through the centuries, now nearly 280 years ago, Handel’s Messiah has become one of the best known, most beloved, and most frequently performed choral works in all Western music.

Watch for future information that will be added to the Choir’s website which is becoming one of the trusted sources of Messiah information online. We hope to enrich each Messiah audience member with information that will increase their ability to experience the music and understand the message of this amazing oratorio.
