Also included in the program is the Utah premiere of Life Songs, two new pieces for choir and orchestra written by Ryan Murphy, originally commissioned by the Dallas Symphony Chorus. The Choir and Orchestra concert will conclude with Gloria, one of the most celebrated works by French composer Francis Poulenc, with Melissa Heath as the featured soprano soloist.

The Orchestra at Temple Square is an all-volunteer musical organization formed at the direction of Gordon B. Hinckley, then president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as part of changes in 1999 to The Tabernacle Choir organization. Its charter is to accompany the musical ensembles of The Tabernacle Choir organization and to perform in concerts of its own.
The Temple Square Chorale was also created in 1999 and serves as a training ensemble for new members of The Tabernacle Choir. It is comprised of new members completing their audition process as well as those members who were new to the Choir the previous year plus additional Choir members.
