Back to the Tabernacle!
Starting with the live Thursday night public rehearsal on September 8, and the Sunday morning broadcast on September 11, The Tabernacle Choir and Orechestra at Temple Square will move back to their home in the Tabernacle on Temple Square.
Since 1929 when the Choir broadcast its first weekly radio program, audiences have been invited to attend the live rehearsals and Sunday morning performances for Music & the Spoken Word each week. Today Music & the Spoken Word is the longest continuously broadcast weekly network radio program, now in its 94th year. Until 2000, all of the broadcasts and rehearsals were held in the Tabernacle. Now traditionally, during the summer months of June, July, and August—and during December—the rehearsals and broadcasts have moved from the Tabernacle into the Conference Center to accommodate the larger public audiences.
