Be a Part of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir
Have you ever pictured yourself in The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square? Have you said to yourself, “Someday I’ll have the courage to try out” or “In a few more years I’ll have less going on in my life?” Now is the perfect time to audition—the Choir is reaching younger audiences across the globe in new and exciting ways.
If you only know the Choir from general conference, you are aware of the beautiful testimony that is shared through music and song. As wonderful as that experience is, the Choir does much more that you may not even be aware of. For example, the Choir usually tours every two years and sings amazing songs that aren’t generally heard on the weekly broadcast. The Choir just returned from a tour of the East Coast and will be touring Central Europe in the summer of 2016. During the East Coast tour, members of the Choir and Orchestra sang on an airplane with Alex Boyé and performed at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.

Each year the Choir performs a Pioneer Day concert that features special guest artists such as Laura Osnes, Santino Fontana, Lindsey Stirling, and Katherine Jenkins. Fontana and the Choir even performed a ”Happy” medley featuring the pop hit “Happy” by Pharrell Williams. After the 2015 Pioneer Day concert was over, the Choir decided to let off some well-deserved steam by doing an impromptu “wave.” After two weeks of touring, extra rehearsals, and the Pioneer Day concert, the Choir was waiting on the stage to be released and decided to have a little fun with the spare time. Take a look:
The Christmas concerts are big events that draw top talent such as John Rhys-Davies (Lord of the Rings, Raiders of the Lost Ark), David Archuleta, Gladys Knight, Alfie Boe, The Muppets® from Sesame Street®, and Tom Brokaw, to name a few. These concerts provide moments never to be forgotten, such as this story featuring “Candy Bomber” Gail Halvorsen and his charitable efforts during World War II to help heal war-torn Berlin.
In addition to tours, the weekly Music & the Spoken Word broadcasts, and the annual Pioneer Day and Christmas concerts, the Choir has performed at presidential inaugurations, World’s Fairs, and expositions.
The Choir works hard and has fun doing it. They know that the music they share touches hearts and lives around the world and prepares hearts and minds for the gospel.
