Bells on Temple Square Release 3 New Videos

The Bells on Temple Square just released three new videos from their June 2017 concert. If you have never experienced the Bells live, these videos will give you a great sense of what it’s like to watch a concert.

When the Bells on Temple Square ring their bells, it is a visual performance unlike anything else. In the past, some Bells videos that made a big impact online were “Flight of the Bumblebee,” “Good Vibrations” by the Beach Boys, and “Overture to the Marriage of Figaro.”

Tarantella

Tarantella is a group of Italian folk dances, defined by fast, upbeat tempos. This style of Italian dance came about because of the false belief that if you were bit by a tarantula spider, it led to a hysterical condition known as tarantism. Some forms of the Tarantella dance were performed as a “cure” from the spider bite. The spider (Lycosa tarantula), which is not the same as the tarantula we know today, was named after the Italian province of Taranto, Apulia.

Firebird Finale

The Firebird is a ballet by Russian composer, Igor Stravinsky, and was an immediate success with critics and audiences. It was Stravinsky’s his first large-scale work for orchestra, and was the beginning of his collaboration with Sergei Diaghilev, who commissioned the ballet.
