"The Cat And The Mouse Carol," with David Archuleta
In 2010, former American Idol contestant David Archuleta joined the Mormon Tabernacle Choir as musical guest for the Christmas concert. During the concert Archuleta performed many Christmas classics such as “Joy to the World," “Silent Night,” and “Angels, from the Realms of Glory.”
He also performed a unique Christmas song titled “The Cat and the Mouse Carol.” The song was written by Ted Hutchinson and was arranged by the Choir’s director, Mack Wilberg. In an interview on the Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s YouTube channel, Archuleta said, “It was fun to sing 'The Cat and the Mouse Carol' since it was one that I had not heard of before, but it was very innocent and very pure in the message that was being said.”
“The Cat and the Mouse Carol,” and other songs such as “Gesú bambino,” appear on the album, Glad Christmas Tidings. Watch the complete episode of Music & the Spoken Word featuring songs from the concert.
