Choir Welcomes “Cinderella” to Pioneer Day Concert

Cinderella on stage in the Conference Center with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square!  It doesn’t get better than this.

The Pioneer Day concert, a long-time favorite on the summer concert scene features Cinderella Broadway star Laura Osnes in two spectacular performances entitled “Music for a Summer Evening.”  The concert is scheduled for Friday, July 17 and Saturday, July 18 at 8:00 p.m. in the Conference Center and will be conducted by Mack Wilberg and Ryan Murphy.

Free tickets are required and are available NOW at lds.org/events or by calling 801-570-0080.  Admission is limited to those eight and older.

Award-winning Broadway actress Laura Osnes brings magic to the stage.  She was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Leading Actress for her role in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella; last year’s Pioneer Day guest, Santino Fontana, was nominated for Best Leading Actor.  She also won the Drama Desk Award for her role in Cinderella and was nominated for Bonnie and Clyde in 2012.  She has also appeared on television and performed with the New York Philharmonic, New York Pops and at Carnegie Hall.

“Last year, Prince Charming in the form of Santino Fontana, made his debut on the Conference Center stage,” said Choir president Ron Jarrett.  “It only seems fitting to welcome Cinderella.  Ms. Osnes is a talented vocalist and performer who will charm our audiences.  We’re so glad the glass slipper fit with her busy schedule.”
