Former Mormon Tabernacle Choir guest artist David Archuleta just released his first full-length album since 2012’s Begin. His new album, Postcards in the Sky, was released on October 20, 2017, and features 16 introspective tracks.

In an interview with The Christian Beat, Archuleta affirmed, “These songs are about the struggle of finding your own voice and how hard it can be sometimes to believe in yourself.” To write the album, Archuleta relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, where he collaborated with songwriters such as Joy Williams (formerly of The Civil Wars), Trent Dabbs, Jeff Trott, Jeremy Bose, and Katie Herzig. “It was therapeutic working with them,” stressed Achuleta.

In promoting the album recently in the Philippines, Archuleta told Filipino reporters, “When I was in my mission in Chile, I didn’t have social media. That’s when I gained more confidence than I ever did because I wasn’t constantly comparing myself to other people. Sometimes we need breaks. It changed my life so much. I will forever be grateful for that. It’s the greatest thing I’ve done in my life so far.”

In 2010, Archuleta, who was only 19 years old at the time, performed in front of 21,000 people a night in the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
