The Song “Glorious” was originally written by Stephanie Mabey for her album Wake Up Dreaming, and was also featured on the album EFY 2012: Arise and Shine Forth.
Archuleta was familiar with the song before recording it while still serving his mission saying, “It’s a beautiful message, I listened to it as a missionary in Chile. I think it’s a favorite among a lot of youth and a lot of missionaries who are allowed to listen to EFY (Especially For Youth) music.” He eventually re-recorded the song upon returning home stating that he couldn’t pronounce the words the first time due to his Spanish accent and that he wasn’t used to singing pop music.
Archuleta was the Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s guest in 2010 for the annual Christmas concert, where he performed numerous Christmas favorites including, “Joy to the World,” “Silent Night” and “Angels from the Realms of Glory.” Watch the full episode of Music & the Spoken Word with highlights from the concert or hear the album Glad Christmas Tidings, featuring David Archuleta and the Choir, from the same concert.
