How to Enjoy MessiahEven If You Didn’t Get Tickets!
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square will present their 2018 Messiah concert in the Salt Lake Tabernacle on Temple Square on Thursday, March 22, and Friday, March 23, 2018. Although all the tickets for the concerts have been distributed, there are still many ways for you to enjoy Handel’s famous oratorio.
Here are some suggestions.
Public Dress Rehearsal on Wednesday, March 21
Because of the high demand for tickets, the Messiah dress rehearsal in the Salt Lake Tabernacle will be open to the public on Wednesday, March 21, at 7:30 p.m. No tickets will be required. Because this rehearsal will be recorded, it is limited to those eight years of age and older.
Standby Seating
Those without tickets are invited to join the standby line formed each evening before the concerts (Thursday, March 22, and Friday, March 23) at the flagpole on Temple Square. Standby patrons may be seated in the Tabernacle (live performance), the Joseph Smith Building Legacy Theater (premium sound simulcast), or the Conference Center Theater (closed-circuit simulcast). Seating from this line is first come, first served.
