Katherine Jenkins is known and loved throughout the world. Born in Neath, Wales, the mezzo-soprano has brought classical music to mainstream audiences, releasing 10 studio albums since 2004, when she signed the biggest ever classical record deal. When her fifth album entered the charts at #3, Jenkins said, “I never imagined when I was a young girl listening to them on the radio that I would outsell the Spice Girls and Celine Dion. It’s almost too much to take in. I can’t thank my fans enough for all their support." Her albums have sold over 7 million copies worldwide.

Jenkins is also the first female artist to win two consecutive Classical BRIT Awards for Album of the Year in 2005 and 2006. In addition to winning awards, she has performed at numerous high profile sporting events and has sung for the queen and prime minister. In 2012 she was a contestant on season 14 of Dancing with the Stars, where she and her dance partner, Mark Ballas, finished in second place in the finale.

Later in 2012, Jenkins joined with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square for the Pioneer Day Commemoration Concert, The Joy of Song, where she even brought along Ballas for a paso doble dance number. During the program, she made a Welsh connection with the Choir, saying, “I'm not sure what's in the water we drink in Wales, but it seems that everybody grows up singing. And if you can't carry a tune, well, you just sing anyway." She then asked how many members had Welsh ancestry, and most of the Choir raised their hands. "Hello, cousins!" Jenkins laughed. Jenkins performed many songs, including “Habanera” from Carmen, “You’ll Never Walk Alone” from Carousel, and “Cymru Fach (Dearest Wales),” to name a few.
