A new video has the Internet buzzing—a video that stars some of the industry’s top talent, including Lindsey Stirling, Josh Groban, and The Muppets®. The video is for the memorable song “Pure Imagination,” from the 1971 film Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
Mormon Tabernacle Choir audiences remember Stirling from her performance in the 2013 Pioneer Day concert—not to mention that she has over a billion views on her YouTube channel. . . . Yes, we said a billion.
What some may not realize is that the Choir appears on Josh Groban’s Christmas album, Noël, on the final track, “Oh, Come, All Ye Faithful.” The album, released in 2007, reached number 1 on the Billboard 200 and made history by being the only Christmas album to spend four consecutive weeks at the top spot.
Last year’s Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas concert featured The Muppets® from Sesame Street®—friends of The Muppets® featured in the video “Pure Imagination.” The video features a violin duel between Miss Piggy and Stirling, while Groban gets a little too much wind blown through his hair thanks to Fozzie Bear. Throughout the video, the Muppets do their very best to offer a helping hand but end up getting their musician friends covered in . . . well, just watch for yourself.
The song “Pure Imagination” is included on Groban’s 2015 album, Stages.
