Lindsey Stirling Wins an Echo Music Award

Congratulations to Lindsey Stirling! She can now add Echo Award winner to her ever-growing list of accomplishments. To put this into perspective, the Echo Awards are the German equivalent of the GRAMMY’s in the United States. Stirling won the award for best crossover act saying, “I was the violinist that wanted to dance,” during her acceptance speech. “I know that sounds strange but now I’m living my dream,” she added.

Stirling posted a collage of pictures from the night and the following caption on her Instagram account,  “Guys!!! I won an Echo award! It's my first ever award from a traditional award ceremony…I got to give the whole thank you speech and everything. I totally forgot what I was going to say cause I was so excited but it was a magical moment I'll always remember. Thank you to all my German peeps for helping me get this!”

Stirling was a guest artist of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir at last year’s Pioneer Day concert, playing such songs as “Elements,” "Poor Little Lambs,” and “Scotland the Brave/Simple Gifts.” Her videos from the concert are very popular on the Choir’s YouTube channel. Stirling's new album Shatter Me, is due to be released on April 29.
