9 Mack Wilberg Compositions for Your Listening Pleasure

In case you thought Mack Wilberg was just the director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, we’ve got some news for you: in addition to his duties as director—which is a serious job in and of itself—Wilberg is a world-class composer and arranger.

In fact, Wilberg has over 200 listings on Oxford University Press, including compositions and arrangements. Former Choir director Craig Jessop said, “Mack Wilberg has emerged as one of the preeminent composers and arrangers of choral music in the United States today. His sublime arrangements and compositions are being performed by choirs and orchestras around the world to great acclaim.”

Wilberg’s works have been performed by the Choir of King’s College, Cambridge; England’s Choir of St. John’s College; and Sweden’s Orphei Dränger, and the choruses of the Chicago Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and London Philharmonic Orchestra sing his works. His music was also performed at the World War II Memorial Dedication, the British Christmas Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, and the funerals of both President Ronald Reagan and President Gerald Ford.

Previously, we’ve published a number of blog posts on Wilberg’s arrangements, such as “15 Stunning Mack Wilberg Arrangements,” “8 Inspiring Folk Arrangements by Mack Wilberg,” “12 Christmas Songs Arranged by Mack Wilberg,” and “Mack Wilberg’s Arrangement of ‘Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing’: The History and Lyrics.” But here’s our first collection of music composed by Mack Wilberg:
