Hooray! Choir to Add Android Version of Its App

The Choir not only sings – it tweets, blogs, posts to Instagram, Pinterest, and its website, mormontabernaclechoir.org. But that isn’t all. Just weeks ago, the Choir introduced a new app for iOS users devoted exclusively to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and its music. In April—the Choir will add an app version for the Android! Stay tuned for the launch date!

Tens of thousands have signed up to use the app on iPads and iPhones and the interest continues to climb. “Anyone who has access to the app can have the Choir with them wherever they go,” said Jared Goodey, technical producer for the Choir app. “The most exciting part of the app is its portability.” The content found in the app mirrors the content on the Choir’s website but it has been distilled down into the elements that are most important to mobile  users – the Choir’s 24/7 music stream powered by the Mormon Channel, the Sacred Music Library, the latest news, feature stories, and blog. Users have found they can even purchase CDs, digital music albums, books, and DVDs of the Choir with the new app – all on their mobile device.

“The app is a dashboard of everything that is important to fans of the Choir,” said Christian Lambert, executive producer of digital content for the Choir. “It is part of our ongoing effort to bring the Choir to where people are digitally.”

Downloadable mp3’s of the Choir’s music from store.lds.org will be the next new service from the Choir.  Stay subscribed to Choir Notes for the latest information.
