Santino Fontana Returns as 2014 Christmas Guest Artist
Santino is back! If you happened to miss his performance in the 2014 Pioneer Day concert make sure to watch the video below. Watch this clip of Fontana as he pulls his phone out mid-concert and takes a selfie in the Conference Center.
During the concert, Fontana, the Choir and the Orchestra performed a variety of songs including “Ten Minutes Ago” from Cinderella, “Something’s Coming” from West Side Story, “She Likes Basketball,” from Promises, Promises, and a “Happy” medley featuring the international hit song “Happy” by Pharrell Williams. The medley, arranged by Sam Cardon and Bob Stillman, begins at 1:01:09 in the video below.
This time around, Fontana, who starred as Prince Hans in Disney's mega-hit Frozen, will be joining a cast of lovable Sesame Street characters for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s annual Christmas concerts.
During a recent radio interview on The Doug Wright Show Fontana said, “I was hoping at some point I’d be able to come back but I never imagined it would be this soon, or with characters that I grew up with as a kid, so that’s thrilling. I’m excited and shocked and I can’t wait.” Choir director Mack Wilberg, who was also present during the interview, praised Fontana saying, “He was a huge hit when he was here in July and I think people left wanting to hear even more of Santino, so we’re delighted that he has agreed to also be with us.”
The concerts will take place on the evenings of December 11-13, 2014 at 8 p.m. in the Conference Center. Santino and the Sesame Street Muppets will appear live on the Choir’s weekly broadcast of Music & the Spoken Word on Sunday, December 14 with a special mini-concert following immediately after the broadcast.
