Save These Christmas Concert Dates
Halloween and Thanksgiving are just around the corner. And it is not too early to note these dates for Christmas with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square. Concerts are scheduled December 12 to December 15. The Thursday, December 12 performance is a dress rehearsal, concerts follow on Friday and Saturday and the Sunday morning is a mini concert in conjunction with the weekly Music & the Spoken Word broadcast.
Because they are the most sought after tickets in town at the holidays, tickets for the 2013 Christmas Concert will be distributed via a random selection process. Registration for the random selection will begin at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, October 12 and continue through Monday, October 21 at 11:59 p.m. To sign up for tickets go towww.lds.org/events. Once the selection process is completed, those participating in the process will be notified by email whether or not they were selected to receive tickets. Tickets will be mailed to those receiving seating.
Announcement of guest artists is scheduled for early October on KSL Radio’s The Doug Wright Show.
In addition, last year’s Christmas program with Alfie Boe and Tom Brokaw will be available on CD and DVD, both entitled Home for the Holidays, beginning in mid-October. The companion book, Christmas from Heaven: The Story of the Berlin Candy Bomber, will be released that same time as well. The program is scheduled for airing on PBS in December (watch Choir Notes for dates or your check with your local stations.)
