Hear What President Thomas S. Monson Said about Seeing the Choir Live in Concert
Most people who have experienced the music of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir have experienced it through a television, tablet, phone, or computer screen. While all of those are great options to watch the Choir’s weekly Music & the Spoken Word broadcasts or YouTube channel, there is an even better option to experience the fullness of the Choir’s wall of sound—and that is to see a live concert.
Each year, residents of Utah and the surrounding states have easy access to watch the Choir’s weekly broadcast live. In addition to the broadcast, the Choir participates in various live concerts, including for Christmas and Pioneer Day, special events, and biannual tours.
At a pre-concert event in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, during a previous tour, President Thomas S. Monson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said, “I do not hesitate to profess that there is no finer choir in the entire world. … Perhaps you have listened to their albums or seen them on television. Until you have experienced a live concert, however, you cannot appreciate all that they have to offer.”
The Choir and Orchestra’s new landmark album Messiah, the complete oratorio, is now available for purchase in multiple formats. See the Messiah album page here.
President Monson was also kind to welcome the Choir to YouTube when the Choir's channel launched in 2012.
