Tickets Available June 18 for 2019 Pioneer Day Concert with Sissel!

The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square will present their annual Pioneer Day Concert “Music for a Summer Evening” held in conjunction with community celebrations on Friday and Saturday, July 19 and July 20, in the Conference Center at Temple Square at 8:00 p.m.

Featured Guest Artist: Sissel

The Choir and Orchestra are thrilled to welcome back internationally acclaimed, Norwegian-born singer Sissel, as the featured guest for this year’s concert. Known for her “exquisite, crystalline, and captivating” voice, Sissel first performed with the Choir in 2005 on Music & the Spoken Word and in 2006 for the Choir and Orchestra’s annual Christmas concerts. Audiences fell in love with her. “The sincerity and purity of her voice captivates everyone who hears it,” remarked Mack Wilberg, music director of the Choir. The Choir has worked for many years to arrange a return engagement, resulting in these summer performances.

Tickets

Tickets for the concerts will be available on Tuesday, June 18, at 9:00 a.m. at ChurchofJesusChrist.org/events or by calling 801-570-0080 (locally) or toll free 1-866-637-8457. Admission is open to those eight years and older. Tickets for the concerts are complimentary and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Each patron may request up to four tickets. Patrons who don’t receive tickets are encouraged to stand by each evening of the concert for last minute seating, which is often available. The standby line forms by the flagpole near the Tabernacle on Temple Square.

Those requesting tickets for Choir events should have a “My Tickets” account (formerly “My LDS Tickets”) and password. Patrons may set up an account at ChurchofJesusChrist.org/events prior to requesting tickets. If you have previously requested concert tickets online, you may already have an account, which you can confirm at this website. If you have an account but don’t remember your password, you may request that a new password be sent to you prior to your ticket request so your account is ready to use.

Sissel will also perform during the Sunday, July 21, Music & the Spoken Word broadcast. No tickets will be required for this performance, which will be held in the Conference Center at 9:30 a.m. Patrons should be in their seats by 9:15 a.m.

Concert Broadcast

The concert will be streamed on TheTabernacleChoir.org at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 20. BYUtv will air the concert on Sunday, July 21, at 5:00 p.m., 9:00 p.m., and midnight (mountain time). It will also be carried on the Church satellite broadcast system. (Satellite broadcast schedules will be available soon.)
