Getting Started
We promised some information to get you started if you’re not social media savvy. It’s not that hard to learn! Maybe you’ve heard your kids or grandkids talk about it or even include you in a video they thought you would never see—until now! If you have a computer or smartphone, you are literally minutes away from joining a social network.
And if you’re worried that you’re not the right age for this, consider this statistic—40 percent of U.S. adults age 65 or older are on at least one social media site.
To get started, you might try creating a Facebook account in the United States. Facebook is the most widely used social media platform, and 68 percent of U.S. adults are users on it. If you are wanting to ease your way into social media, this is probably the best site to start with. To join Facebook, go to Facebook.com on a computer, or search and download Facebook in your phone’s download site (App Store or Google Play Store). Facebook and other social apps are free. You will need to create a profile by using your name and email and by creating a password.
Once you have created your profile, we recommend adjusting your privacy settings to clarify what you want made public about your profile and your posts. You can also join the other popular social networks described above. Sign up for these networks like you did for Facebook; each requires a profile and an email or username.
Once you join, search for “The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square,” and follow us for the latest news, videos, and announcements.
