Whether you are an experienced user of content by The Tabernacle Choir, you’re just beginning to explore the Choir’s content, or you have been hoping for a way to learn more about the Choir, we’ve got you covered. If you’re new to Choir social media, the “Choir Social Media Channels” and “Getting Started” sections in this blog are just for you.

For Everyone: How-To Articles

Here are some how-to articles that we’ve compiled from our website. The list includes things like downloading music, using our historical member roster to look up family members who might have performed in or served with the Choir, and using Alexa to listen to Choir broadcasts and music. We can almost guarantee that some of these amazing ways to connect with the Choir will be new to you.

Choir Social Media Channels

The Tabernacle Choir has a presence on all social media platforms.  Here’s a quick rundown of each one:

YouTube (youtube.com/thetabernaclechoirattemplesquare): YouTube is the top video-sharing platform in the world. On the Choir’s channel you can watch hundreds of videos; the Music & the Spoken Word broadcasts—live each week or previous broadcasts; Pioneer Day concerts; and much more. You can also like and comment on videos or share videos on other social media sites, such as Facebook or Twitter..

Facebook (facebook.com/TheTabernacleChoir): On the Choir Facebook page, you can see photos of recent events, stay up to date on Choir activities, and find out about tours and concerts. You can share Choir content with your friends and family.

Twitter (twitter.com/thetabchoir): Twitter is a fast-paced way to connect with followers and friends. Each post, called a “tweet,” has a character limit. On the Choir’s Twitter account, you can find interesting facts and current news.

Instagram (instagram.com/thetabernaclechoir): Instagram allows users to easily share photos or videos with friends and family. The Choir’s Instagram account shares photos from concerts and other insider information, like backstage content with guest artists. Whether it’s Choir content or your own content, people on Instagram can like and comment on your posts.

Besides these social media channels, the Choir has its own website (thetabernaclechoir.org), which you may have visited in the past for information and to view other Choir content.

Getting Started

We promised some information to get you started if you’re not social media savvy. It’s not that hard to learn! Maybe you’ve heard your kids or grandkids talk about it or even include you in a video they thought you would never see—until now! If you have a computer or smartphone, you are literally minutes away from joining a social network.

And if you’re worried that you’re not the right age for this, consider this statistic—40 percent of U.S. adults age 65 or older are on at least one social media site.

To get started, you might try creating a Facebook account in the United States. Facebook is the most widely used social media platform, and 68 percent of U.S. adults are users on it. If you are wanting to ease your way into social media, this is probably the best site to start with. To join Facebook, go to Facebook.com on a computer, or search and download Facebook in your phone’s download site (App Store or Google Play Store). Facebook and other social apps are free. You will need to create a profile by using your name and email and by creating a password. To guide you through the process, here is a link to a site with some pictures: https://www.digitalunite.com/technology-guides/social-networking-blogs/facebook/how-join-facebook

Once you have created your profile, we recommend adjusting your privacy settings to clarify what you want made public about your profile and your posts. You can also join the other popular social networks described above. Sign up for these networks like you did for Facebook; each requires a profile and an email or username.

Once you join, search for “The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square,” and follow us for the latest news, videos, and announcements.
