What’s New with The Tabernacle Choir
Family, friends, associates, dignitaries, and Church members from around the world have been invited to join in a celebration of President Russell M. Nelson’s 95th birthday on Friday, September 6, at 8:00 p.m. (mountain daylight time). The celebration will honor the prophet for his life of Christlike service and will include music and video insights into the life and ministry of President Nelson as a special witness of Jesus Christ.
The Many Ways to Engage with The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square
On August 18, 2019, newly appointed Temple Square organist Joseph Peeples will perform his first organ solo on the Music & the Spoken Word broadcast. Peeples was announced as a new organist this past April after an extensive, worldwide search.
Music & the Spoken Word has been broadcasting every week since 1929. The message and purpose behind this venerable program haven’t changed since that first broadcast on July 15, 1929—even though the world has changed drastically. The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square’s weekly broadcast has been responding with music to what is happening in the world for over nine decades, giving hope and comfort to audiences around the world.
