Concerts of English hand bell ringing are a special delight and this Bells Temple Square holiday concert by the Bells on Temple Square has had a particularly warm reception for many years. The first part of the program will have several numbers appropriate for the Thanksgiving holiday which shortly follows it with the remainder of the concert will feature festive bell repertoire to celebrate the Christmas season.  Included in the broad variety of hand bell repertoire will be “On This Day the Earth Shall Ring,” “Come, Ye Children of the Lord” and “Of the Father’s Love Begotten.” The holiday favorites on the concert are “Go Tell It on the Mountain,” a piece based on music from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite, bell arrangements of “Silent Night” and “God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman” and Christmas folk music arrangements from the West Indies, Ukraine, and Puerto Rico.
