Bells on Temple Square Concert

Tickets for this spring Bells on Temple Square concert go quickly because it is for only one night. Be sure not to miss this chance to see “Dancing with Bells” by the Bells on Temple Square.

The Bells on Temple Square will present “Dancing with Bells,” its annual spring concert, on Friday, June 10, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. in the Salt Lake Tabernacle. Leading the concert will be LeAnna Willmore, conductor of Bells on Temple Square; Larry Smith, associate conductor, will lead the ensemble for several numbers.

Anyone who has ever watched this delightful bell ensemble perform will tell you that the artful bell ringing does look like the performers are dancing with their bells. The music on the concert spans a broad range of repertoire styles, from hymns (“Be Thou My Vision” and “Come, Thou Mighty King”) to a Welsh lullaby (on the theme of “Suo Gan”) to music with a foreign air (“Valse les Adieux,” “Danza Festivo,” and “Brazil”) to songs from the movies Chicago and Pirates of the Caribbean. As usual with these Temple Square concerts, the bell choir numbers will be interspersed with organ solos by Temple Square organists Bonnie Goodliffe and Linda Margetts, as well as pieces by members of the Orchestra at Temple Square.
