The Orchestra at Temple Square, a 170-member, all-volunteer, nationally recognized orchestra was established in 1999 as a companion ensemble to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. The Orchestra performs each week with the Choir in the weekly broadcast of Music & the Spoken Word, in annual Easter, Pioneer Day and Christmas concerts, as well as other special events. Since 2005 the Orchestra has gone on tour with the Choir across North America and in 2016 traveled with the Choir to Europe. Each year they present their own fall and spring symphonic concerts in the Tabernacle.
Admission to this event is limited to those ages eight and older. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. each evening of the event, and concertgoers should be in their seats by 7:15 p.m.
