PBS Stations broadcast of Christmas with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir featuring Rolando Villazón.
This year’s holiday special, Christmas with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir featuring Rolando Villazón, brings the cross-cultural, Latin-themed Christmas celebration to our audiences. Since 2004, the annual 60-minute Christmas with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir programs have been the No. 1 watched program on PBS during the holiday season.
This 60-minute holiday program will feature world-renowned tenor Rolando Villazón, the first Latin-American guest star and narrator for the production. By weaving beloved, traditional Latin-American holiday songs with classic carols, Christmas with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir will deliver a unique and poignant cross-cultural holiday celebration to millions of viewers across the country.
“Rolando is one of the great singers and most versatile artists alive today,” said Mack Wilberg, music director of the Choir. “what makes Rolando so special is he brings his deep love for his Latin American culture to his performances as both singer and narrator. Paring his incredible talent and entertaining character with that of the Choir and Orchestra results in yet another majestic collaboration and we are delighted to share this magic with our audiences this holiday season.”
