Baby of Bethlehem
Watch the touching true story of a father and daughter dealing with the loss of their wife and mother as they realize the comfort, peace, and hope that comes from the reassuring message of Christ’s birth in Bethlehem. The video uses footage of Tony Award® winner Kelli O’Hara’s special performance of “Baby in Bethlehem” during The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square’s 2019 Christmas concerts.
“BABY OF BETHLEHEM”
“Baby of Bethlehem” (also known as “Singing in the Land”) is an African-American spiritual that was included in a 1953 volume of Ruth Crawford Seeger’s American Folk Songs for Christmas. Mack Wilberg’s arrangement retains the carol’s innate innocence and raw simplicity, placing those qualities as the forefront of this performance.
