Voices We Carry
Every chorister volunteers. Every chorister has a day job. They sing because something happened to them once that the music helped say.

There is no salaried Choir. The 360 singers in the loft on Sunday morning are volunteers — teachers, nurses, contractors, programmers, retirees, students. They give five hours a week to rehearsal, plus the broadcast, plus tours and concerts when the season demands.
Ask any of them why and the answers rhyme. A grandfather who sang in a country congregation. A friend who came back from a hard year and asked if there was anything they could sing together. The line in a hymn that found them when they needed it.
They carry one another’s reasons. The line you hear from the third row, second pew is somebody’s "I will keep going."
