Songs of Hope World Tour
Buenos Aires
August 2025 · Two concerts marking one hundred years since the gospel was first preached in South America.
A hundred years, and a thank you
The Choir marked the centenary of the restored gospel being preached in South America with two concerts in Buenos Aires on August 22 and 23, 2025. The programs wove in cultural dances and songs from the region, and paid tribute to the Latter-day Saints whose faith carried the message through those hundred years.
“The chance to celebrate the remarkable growth of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the last 100 years is a way for us to say, ‘Thank you,’” said Choir President Michael O. Leavitt.
Elder Quentin L. Cook, an Apostle of Jesus Christ, joined the Choir in Buenos Aires. “The Choir, through music, is striving to teach about Jesus Christ and His commandments,” he said.
The Saturday performance was streamed to eleven Spanish-speaking countries across South America and the Caribbean, where more than 500 watch parties were held. Over 16,000 people attended in person.
