Songs of Hope World Tour

São Paulo

March 2026 · Ginásio do Ibirapuera. A return to the same hall the Choir sang in forty-five years before.

Forty-five years later, the same hall

The Choir and Orchestra concluded a week in Brazil on March 1, 2026 at the Ginásio do Ibirapuera in São Paulo. More than 400 locations across the country held watch parties as Saturday night’s concert was streamed, and hundreds of thousands heard the message.

The venue carried its own history. The Choir last sang there in 1981 — a concert attended by a young Ulisses Soares and his wife Rosana while they were courting, sharing a “dream of seeing the Choir sing.”

Elder Soares, now of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, returned to the same hall forty-five years later. “It was such a beautiful memory to cherish,” he said. “To come back 45 years later and accompany the Choir as a representative of the Savior Jesus Christ.”

He welcomed each audience with an invitation: “This concert, ‘Songs of Hope,’ is a sincere expression of that invitation. Through sacred music, we desire to point hearts to Him, Jesus Christ — the One who is, for us, the true source of hope.”

Everyone had a smile on their face. They could feel something different.
