Songs of Hope World Tour

Florida & Georgia

September 2024 · A tour of the American Southeast, closing in Atlanta alongside the Morehouse and Spelman College Glee Clubs.

Sharing a stage, and a story

The Choir closed its Southeastern tour in Atlanta on September 11, 2024, sharing the stage once more with the Morehouse and Spelman College Glee Clubs. The collaboration drew several standing ovations, for “Children, Go Where I Send Thee” and “A Choice to Change the World” among others.

For the singers involved it was more than a concert. “We are making history by combining our cultures, combining our experiences and sharing the stage together,” said Madison Brown, president of the Spelman College Glee Club. “It’s more than just singing.”

Spelman Provost Pamela Scott-Johnson put it plainly: “It’s a joy to be a part of this. I think we can call it a ministry, because it is a ministry.”

Morehouse Glee Club Music Director David Morrow saw the beginning of something that would need tending. “This collaboration, if it is to take off, it has to be nurtured. It has to be repeated genuinely, and other people will see that it is something that can be done.”

We are making history by combining our cultures, combining our experiences and sharing the stage together.
