Didn't Get Tickets to the 2019 Christmas Concerts?

If you didn’t get tickets to the 2019 Christmas Concerts or live too far away to attend the concert—don’t despair!  There are many ways to enjoy Christmas with The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square.

Those who tried to get Christmas concert tickets know that tickets were distributed in a random selection process where patrons registered for a chance at tickets over a ten-day period. We received requests enough to fill the Conference Center many times over!  Emails were sent to all those who registered with the results of the random selection.

“The Choir and Orchestra perform these free concerts as a service to the community,” remarked Choir general manager Scott Barrick. “We are delighted by the enthusiastic response for the concerts and our featured guests each year. Unfortunately, with such a high demand for concert tickets, we know we aren’t able to accommodate everyone’s requests. We hope that the improvements we made this year gave everyone a better chance of getting tickets.  We know we were able to place tickets with many more patrons this year than in the past. And for those who don’t live close enough to come to the concerts, we are very glad that PBS and BYUtv will air last year’s concert so millions more can enjoy it.”

Ways to enjoy Christmas with the Choir and Orchestra without tickets this year:

IF YOU CAN ATTEND THE CONCERTS

  • Concert Standby Seating

You won’t have to wait outside in the cold! A standby line will form at the north gate of Temple Square on each night of the Christmas concerts. (Thursday through Saturday, December 12–14). Persons in this line will be seated in the Tabernacle and taken to the Conference Center to fill empty seats as they are available. The program will be screened live in the Tabernacle on big screens for patrons not getting into the Conference Center. Many standbys are seated in the Conference Center each year.

Spread the joy of Christmas with the gift of music, the CD or DVD Angels among Us, just released a few weeks ago.  It was recorded during the Choir’s 2018 Christmas concerts featuring Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth. This inspiring concert reminded us that at Christmas and all through the year, there are angels among all of us who willingly share the true spirit of Christmas in gifts of kindness, service, forgiveness, and love.
