The Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s director, Mack Wilberg has created countless arrangements including patriotic, children’s songs, sacred hymns and Christmas carols.

This anonymous African American spiritual appeared in the 1929 film version of the musical Show Boat. It is included on the Choir’s album Peace Like a River.

This arrangement starts with the women, followed by the men, singing in unison. As the song progresses, bells are played by Choir members.

This arrangement begins with a wooden flute, followed by the men singing the main verses. The women then join with supporting “oohs,” followed by the whole Choir singing in beautiful harmony. The flute returns between verses and finishes the song along with the strings and harp.
