Behind The Scenes With Janice Kapp Perry: "My Mother's Love"
Although every day could be dedicated to mothers, Mother’s Day is a yearly opportunity to show love and appreciation for all that a caring mother does. “My Mother’s Love” serves as a wonderful tribute to mothers everywhere. The video above uncovers the true inspiration behind the song, with an exclusive interview with the author of the song,Janice Kapp Perry.
Perry wrote the song at the request of the director of Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Mack Wilberg, for Mother’s Day. She knew immediately where her inspiration would come from saying; “My mother’s love was the basis for everything good in my life. She was always there for me.” Perry recalled fond memories of her mother playing in a dance band with her father, in addition to writing music for the church road shows and musicals for the community.
“She was just a cheerleader…she loved every piece I wrote and had me play it on the phone even before she could get there and say, ‘It’s one of your best.’ She made us feel like we could do things.”
