Bells On Temple Square “Joyfully Ring” For Audience At BYU Idaho

The Bells on Temple Square will take center stage at Brigham Young University-Idaho on April 24 for their concert “Joyfully Ring” at 7:30 p.m. in the Ruth Barrus Concert Hall. This program, at the invitation of the University, marks the 10th anniversary of the founding of Bells on Temple Square. Tickets are available at byui.universitytickets.com

The bell choir, conducted by LeAnna Wilmore, presents two concerts a year on Temple Square as well as performing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in concerts, broadcasts and special events. “To be celebrating our tenth anniversary is a great tribute to our musicians,” Wilmore says.

The 32-member bell choir will perform a variety of music ranging from classical to contemporary. The repertoire will include well-known pieces “Finlandia,” “Russian Sailors Dance,” “The Stars and Stripes Forever,” and “Good Vibrations.”  Of special note will be the ensemble’s presentation of “Flight of the Bumblebee” which has wowed viewers on YouTube for months.

The evening will also feature organ performances by Temple Square organist Linda Margetts on the Ruffatti organ and soloists from the BYU-Idaho music department.
