Watch Music & the Spoken Word Live at Eccles Theater
You may have seen Music & the Spoken Word performances in the Salt Lake Tabernacle or the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, but you’ve never seen it in the Eccles Theater—Until now.
On Sunday morning, October 23, 2016, Music & the Spoken Word will be broadcast from the George S. and Delores Doré Eccles Theater—Salt Lake City’s newest performing arts center—as part of the theater’s Grand Opening weekend events.
Free tickets will be required for this live broadcast and will be available beginning October 4, 2016, from ArtTix. All seating is general admission.
- To guarantee seating, patrons should be in their seats no later than 9:10 a.m. for the broadcast. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.
- Admission is open to everyone ages eight and older.
For those who do not have tickets, this Music & the Spoken Word will also be live streamed to the Salt Lake Tabernacle on Temple Square.
“It is such an honor for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square to be a part of the celebration of this new theater,” said president of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Ron Jarrett. “Music is at the heart of this community and I know the Eccles Theater will not only be enthusiastically embraced but become a musical tradition for many who live in this valley and beyond.”
This new Eccles Theater, located at 131 Main Street, will feature a 2,500 seat performance hall which will host national touring Broadway, concerts, and other popular entertainment events as well as future community events.
Parking for the new theater is available at the Regent Street Parking directly west of the theater and more in the City Creek Center.
