Learn to Sing with Guest Conductor and Former King's Singer Bob Chilcott
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is pleased to welcome Bob Chilcott as a guest conductor for the April 27, 2014, episode of Music & the Spoken Word. Born in Plymouth, England, Chilcott has an extensive background in singing and composing. He has sung in the Choir of King’s College and was a member of the King’s Singers from 1985 to 1997 as a tenor.
Chilcott became a composer in 1997 and has been described by British newspaper theObserver as “a contemporary hero of British choral music.” He has over 125 pieces that have been published by Oxford University Press and performed by numerous artists such as the BBC Singers, the New Zealand Youth Choir, and the Chamber Choir of Europe. He has also written many arrangements for artists such as the King’s Singers, which are mainly published through Hal Leonard.
