Choir Releases New Easter Recording—He Is Risen
For centuries, great composers and lyricists have heralded the Easter season with classic music. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir has just completed a new recording on its label featuring six favorites. “He Is Risen is designed to enhance Easter celebrations and extend that reverence for the Savior and his resurrection throughout the year,” said Scott Barrick, general manager of the Choir. “There isn’t a large selection of recorded Easter music so we’re pleased to make this exciting repertoire available. We expect our listeners will be thrilled with this new music by the Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square.”
All new recordings, the six classic songs include “He Is Risen,” “Jesus Has Risen,” “Christ the Lord Is Risen Today,” “In the Garden,” “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross” and “Worthy Is the Lamb That Was Slain” from Messiah.
The digital version will be available March 4 on iTunes, Amazon MP3 and deseretbook.com. A CD version will follow the first week of April.
