Watch Marie Osmond and Alex Boyé’s New Duet Video
Two former guest artists of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir have teamed up to record a new song and video. Marie Osmond’s song, titled “Then There’s You” appears on Osmond’s new album, Music Is Medicine, and features Alex Boyé.
Osmond was a guest of the Choir in 2008, when she and her brothers performed in the annual Pioneer Day concerts at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Boyé was a member of Choir from 2007 to 2014 and continues to appear occasionally as a guest soloist in concerts and tours.
After being eliminated last year from America’s Got Talent, Boyé was devastated. In a Facebook post he wrote, “When I came off that stage for the final time, I made a vow to myself that I would let this experience refine me, but not define me. I have come to realize that you don't need everybody to approve of you. You just need one. That was Marie Osmond! She called and and invited me to feature on her new album, and on top of that, asked me if I would direct the video.” The video was filmed at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
In a recent interview with the Boston Globe, Osmond spoke about her decision to record another album, saying, “It’s been a while since I recorded an album. People say once you’re over 30, you’re done as a female artist. I’m not. I have a lot of things to say that I could not say when I was 30.”
