Once a year the Choir conducts auditions for a limited number of openings in what is recognized as one of the world’s most accomplished choral ensembles. A recently-retired member lamented her time in the Choir was “not long enough”; another stated firmly it was “the premier musical experience of my life.”

Applications are available only during the application period July 1-- August 15, 2014. Those interested must be between the ages of 25 and 55 and live within 100 miles of Temple Square. Because the Choir acts as an official ambassador for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, all applicants must be members in good standing.

The application process includes the formal application, bishop's recommendation, recorded audition, musical skills assessment, and in-person audition. Initially, those selected begin serving in the Temple Square Chorale. They transition to the Choir in the spring after completing the Chorale and Choir School training.
