2020 Messiah Concert

This musical masterpiece by George Frideric Handel, first performed in the spring of 1742, has become one of the world’s most beloved musical works. Since 2014, The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square have performed Messiah at Easter time every two years in the Tabernacle and live streamed the concert over the internet to audiences around the world.

2020 Messiah Performances

Live Concerts in the Salt Lake Tabernacle
The live concert will originate in the Salt Lake Tabernacle on Good Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11, 2020. (See ticket information below.)

Worldwide Live Stream
The concert will be live streamed on Saturday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. (Mountain) and be available around the world anywhere there is an Internet connection. Plan your own Messiah “Sing-In” event in your home, church, or community centers. More information will be available in early 2020.

Satellite Broadcast
The concert will also be broadcast over the Church satellite system for a limited time where events are planned. Multiple satellite air times will be available to accommodate local needs. More information will be available prior to the concert.

On-demand Viewing

The live stream will be available for a limited time from the Choir’s website during the Easter season to accommodate time zones and schedules. The concert will not be downloadable.

Messiah Guest Soloists

The concert soloists will be announced in February 2020.


Free tickets for the live concert are required and will be available in March 2020. Tickets will be distributed only online at www.churchofjesuschrist.org/events. Admission to this event is limited to those ages eight and older.

Patrons without tickets are invited to stand by for last-minute seating. The standby line will form at the Tabernacle flagpole on Temple Square at 6:00 p.m. for the evening performances on Friday and Saturday, April 10 and 11, 2020.
