At 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, October 27-28, 2017, the Orchestra at Temple Square will perform their annual fall concert at the Tabernacle on Temple Square. The concert will led by Igor Gruppman, principal conductor of the Orchestra at Temple Square, and will feature Mozart's Piano Concerto no. 23 in A Major (K. 488), with guest pianist Arsentiy Kharitonov, and Sibelius's Symphony no. 2 in D Major, op. 43. 

Tickets for the concert are free, but required for this annual event. Beginning Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. (Mountain Daylight Time) tickets will be available at lds.org/events or by calling 801-570-0800 or toll free 1-866-537-8457.  Tickets are limited to four per person. Admission to this event is limited to those ages eight and older.  Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. each evening.  All patrons should be in their seats by 7:15 p.m.

The Orchestra at Temple Square, established in 1999 as a companion ensemble to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. The Orchestra offers an opportunity for instrumental musicians to also serve as goodwill musical ambassadors for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as do Mormon Tabernacle Choir members.

Each week up to 85 musicians, drawn from a roster of more than 200 volunteers, provide instrumental support to the Choir in the weekly broadcast of Music & the Spoken Word. The Orchestra also performs with the Choir in the annual Christmas concert, Pioneer Day celebration and other special events.  Since 2005 the orchestra has participated in biennial concert tours with the Choir as well presenting its own fall and spring symphonic concerts in the Tabernacle.
